Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on the 15th of the 8th month on the lunar calendar, is a Chinese holiday when Chinese all over the world gather with their families to admire the fullest and roundest moon and to taste moon cakes and other Chinese delicacies.
To celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival Cambridge Chinese Community Centre is organising our annual BBQ get-together on 18th September 2016, together with Melchior College, with the support of Chinese Embassy and Cambridge City Council.
Besides the abundant delicious food prepared by the Chinese restaurant Orchid, there will be performances and riddles on the lanterns. A variety of regular activities of the Centre such as Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Lion Dance, children and adults’ Chinese folk dance, and Chinese lessons will be running as a demonstration. There will also be a bouncing castle for the children.
Due to the limitation of the venue, the number of the participants will have to be restricted to 300 people. In order to ensure sufficient food for the participants, tickets are required for the entry. We do apologise but without a ticket no entry can be allowed.
